Meret
Meret Kündig was born in Bern. After completing her piano studies at the Hochschule der Künste Bern (HKB), she studied General and Comparative Literature and Philosophy at the Universität Zürich and the Freie Universität Berlin. Internships and assistantships took her to Schauspiel Frankfurt, the Staatsoper Berlin and the Berliner Ensemble. In 2017, she was employed as a dramaturgy assistant at the Oper Halle, where she worked with directors Tatjana Gürbaca and Thirza Bruncken, among others. As a freelance dramaturge, she has worked with choreographer Johnny Lloyd ('Between the Pages' at the Oper Köln, 'Traces' at the Parktheater Eindhoven), director Wolfgang Nägele ('The Emperor of Atlantis' in Volgograd/Russia and 'K.' at the HochX Munich) and the schäferIIscherpinski collective, among others. She was part of the artistic direction at the international Kleist workshop [Un]sichtbare Grenzen in Belarus and the Kleist Festival in Frankfurt (Oder). She also worked as a translator with Stefan Kaegi/Rimini Protokoll ('Granma' at Maxim Gorki Theater Berlin) and was involved in various productions of Krystian Lada's music theatre collective The Airport Society in Antwerp. Since the 2020/21 season she has been permanently engaged at Theater Basel.
