Wheelchair access:

  • New! Stop 'Theater': A lift in the theatre shopping arcade takes you directly to the foyer of the theatre.
  • Stop 'Bankverein': Walk across the Steinenberg along the Tinguely Fountain to the theatre.
  • Temporary stop 'Bankverein': The nearest entrance is at the theatre café (behind the Elisabethenkirche).

Tram

From 2 to 28 April 2024, extensive track work will be carried out in Basel city centre and therefore also around Theater Basel. We advise you to use the SBB online timetable to plan your journey by public transport.

From SBB station take tram no. 2, 8, 11 to the 'Bankverein' stop. Walk in the direction of Barfüsserplatz down Steinentorberg for 10 minutes, the theatre is behind the Tinguely fountain on the left. Or tram no. 10 to the stop 'Theater'. Use the lift in Theaterstrasse, directly opposite the stop. This will take you directly to the foyer of the Theater Basel.

Bicycle

Parking spaces for two-wheelers are available around the theatre and the Schauspielhaus.

Theatre multi-storey car park

Monday to Saturday from 6:30 p.m., Sundays and public holidays from one hour before the performance (CHF 7.-).

  • 150 parking spaces, no reservation possible
  • Access via Steinentorstrasse
  • Barrier-free, wheelchair-accessible WC
