Welcome!

At Theater Basel there are three stages for opera, theatre and ballet and various other venues. Catering also plays a vital role in supporting the success of the theatre's programme. Numerous bars, which always open one hour before the start of performances, are located beneath the imposing suspended roof of the 1970s theatre building. Our theatre café is open throughout the day. In the heart of the Foyer Public, art meets apple cake, theatre meets tea time and stage meets sweet pastries.

Be it a 'theatre plate' before the performance, drinks and snacks during the interval or a nightcap after the final applause - there are various options available to theatre-goers to round off their theatre experience with culinary delights.

Our theatre café offers a lunch menu with regional, seasonal cuisine, homemade cakes and snacks, as well as delicacies from Basel confectioners. You will find the opening hours at the bottom of this website.

Restaurant Besenstiel is connected directly to our Schauspielhaus and has something for every taste and wish; also before and after a performance at Theater Basel.

Restaurant/Bar Kunsthalle

At Restaurant Kunsthalle, in the immediate vicinity of Theater Basel, guests can choose between a casual or a slightly more formal setting. While the adjoining bar serves cocktails and digestifs.
