An ode to life

Mozart's unfinished 'Requiem' as a visually powerful and stirring scenic meditation on disappearance and transience. Complemented by lesser-known sacred works by Mozart, the requiem is transformed into a celebration of life in Romeo Castellucci's production. In ritualistic choreographies, the choir and a group of dancers merge into the energy centre of the evening. Having fallen victim to Corona in the 20/21 season, the now internationally acclaimed co-production with the Festival d'Aix-en-Provence and the Adelaide Festival finally comes to Basel. Ivor Bolton, principal conductor of the Basel Symphony Orchestra, will conduct.

In co-production with the Adelaide Festival and the Festival d'Aix-en-Provence.

Shortly before the premiere, during the final rehearsals, we invite you to a first exclusive insight. In an introduction you will get to know the artistic team and learn more about the play, the material and the production. Afterwards you will visit a stage rehearsal.
