Ronan Caillet began his music studies in Colmar and Strasbourg, where he also received horn lessons in addition to his vocal training. He completed his full vocal studies at the Freiburg University of Music in the class of Prof. Torsten Meyer as well as in Leipzig with Prof. Berthold Schmid and with Jean-François Rouchon at the Conservatoire Royal in Brussels. He has won prizes at the German National Singing Competition and the CantateBach Singing Competition, among others. He has performed oratorio roles under Helmuth Rilling, Hans-Christoph Rademann and the Freiburg Baroque Orchestra, among others. In 2017, he worked with the Nuremberg Symphony Orchestra and received lessons from Edith Wiens, Marcelo Amaral and Brigitte Fassbaender. Together with pianist Malte Schäfer, he reached the final round of the German Music Competition and the International Schubert Competition Dortmund in 2018; in 2019, they won the Prix de Mélodie Française of the Concours Nadia & Lili Boulanger in Paris, followed by an invitation from the radio station France Musique. In the same year, he performed with SWR and the Deutsche Radio Philharmomie as a participant in the Emmerich Smola Prize. Ronan Caillet has been a member of the Theater Basel ensemble since the 21/22 season. His repertoire includes roles such as Count Almaviva in ‹Il barbiere di Siviglia›, Tamino in ‹Die Zauberflöte›, Narraboth in ‹Salome›, Borsa in ‹Rigoletto›, Froh in ‹Ring des Nibelungen›, Laërte in ‹Mignon›, Pang in ‹Turandot› and Aeneas in ‹Dido und Aeneas›.
