David Fortmann, born in Freiburg i. Breisgau, studied media technology at the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences and had his first taste of theatre as a video technician at the Thalia Theatre. His diploma thesis, which dealt with the development of a video technology infrastructure for theatres, was written in 2011 at the Theater Basel, where he found employment in the sound and video department after successfully completing his studies as a graduate engineer (FH). Since 2017, David Fortmann has been the head video technician responsible for the smooth running of video productions on the stages of the Dreispartenhaus. He likes to spend his free time climbing and hiking in the beautiful mountains of Switzerland.
