Caterina Cianfarini studied viola in Frankfurt am Main and Saarbrücken and music theatre directing at the Theaterakademie Hamburg. There she worked, among other things, as a curator for the Salon Kleiner Michel and at various festivals for music and theatre, including the Kaltstart Theatre Festival Hamburg. In the 2016/17 season, she made a production documentation for Benedikt von Peter's Lucerne production of Luigi Nono's 'Prometeo' for the Akademie der Künste in Berlin. As assistant director and play director, Caterina Cianfarini was engaged at the Luzerner Theater from 2017 to 2020 and at the Theater Basel from 2020 to 2022. She worked with directors such as Benedikt von Peter, Herbert Fritsch and Susanne Kennedy. Since 2021, Caterina Cianfarini has held a teaching position for scenic acting at the Hochschule für Musik in Freiburg im Breisgau. In recent seasons she has directed 'Gianni Schicchi' and the classic 'Sommernachtstraum'.
