Karoline Gundermann completed her Bachelor of Arts in Costume Design at the Hanover University of Applied Sciences and Arts under Maren Christensen and Heide Kastler. From 2014 to 2020, she worked as a costume design assistant for various theatre and opera productions at the Städtische Bühnen Frankfurt. This was followed in 2021 by a two-year engagement as costume design assistant at Theater Basel, where she created the costume designs for 'Die kleine Hexe', 'Pink Panther' and 'Persona', among others. She has worked closely and continuously with director and author Franz Broich on the productions 'Drinks', 'Die Beste aller Zeiten' and 'Erpresso Macchiato'. Karoline Gundermann has been working as a freelance costume designer for theatre and film since 2023. In the 24/25 season, she is designing the costume design for the tetralogy 'Ring des Nibelungen' at Theater Basel as an artistic collaborator with stage and costume designer Katrin Lea Tag, directed by Benedikt von Peter. This season she is also responsible for the costume design of 'Die Schneekönigin' and 'Es wär so schade wenn du das verpasst'.
