First practical experience for young singers

Since 2006, the Basel opera studio OperAvenir has been supporting young singers in their first steps in professional theatre work after graduation. The members of the opera studio appear on stage in various roles. They also create a varied programme with their own projects, concerts and performances.

Diverse further training

The additional training in the opera studio takes around two years. Applicants come from all over the world.
The focus is on weekly lessons in singing and speaking technique, body and acting training, supplemented by workshops and masterclasses. Hélio Vida will take over the management of the OperAvenir opera studio in the 20/21 season. Regular calls for applications and castings are advertised.
