A timeless tale of a patchwork family in the countryside
Beat manages his deceased sister's company, «Rent-a-tent». With the proceeds he finances the career of his brother-in-law from his first marriage – an art professor he adores. This jack-of-all-trades returns from the big city penniless but with a young new wife. Beat himself had, for many years, dreamed of being an artist. But dreaming alone does not change the world, not even your own.
«This dialect Wanja offers everything the original did. Existential pain and humour, idealism drowned in booze and self-pity, the destruction of nature due to our laziness, the futility of all endeavour, because in the end everything stays the same.» bz Basel
