Anna
Anna Bauer, born 1985 in Hamburg, is a composer, singer and musician. She completed the pop course at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hamburg and completed her master's degree in film music composition at the UK's National Film and Television School in 2018.
Her collaborations with Antù Romero Nunes, Armin Petras, Johanna Witt and Philipp Becker have taken her to the Thalia Theater Hamburg, Schauspielhaus Zürich, Schauspielhaus Bochum, ITZ in Tübingen and Schauspielhaus Düsseldorf, among others. She composes and writes theatre music and songs and performs as a stage musician.
Her film music works have been shown at the Annecy Film Festival, Sheffield Doc Fest, New York Jewish Film Festival, Edinburgh International Film Festival and the London Short Film Festival. Her composition for the animated film 'HOME' (directed by Anita Bruvere) won the Best Original Score festival award at Annecy in 2020. Further film and TV scores are created for the BBC, WDR, BAFTA, Channel4, as well as for UNHCR.
She made her Basel debut with the composition for Romero Nunes' 'Metamorphosen', followed by 'Onkel Wanja' and the composition of 'Die Mühle von Saint Pain'. With 'Ein Sommernachtstraum' she has now been invited to the Berlin Theatertreffen for the first time in 2023. Anna Bauer lives and works in London and Hamburg.
