Stefanie Pechtl, born 1989 in Austria, received her Ballett education at the Balletschool of the Staatsoper in Vienna. Already during her apprenticeship she danced in the Corps de ballet of the Vienna Opera. An engagement at Györi Ballet led her to Hungary, where she danced in choreographies by Christopher Bruce, Robert North and Gustavo Ramirez Sansano. From March 2012 she worked as a freelance dance artist and ballet teacher, meanwhile studying cultural and social anthropology, as well as French at the University of Vienna. In January 2014 she was engaged at the dance theater ensemble of Landestheater Linz. In addition to her engagement, she completed her bachelor's degree in dance pedagogy and contemporary dance at the Anton Bruckner University in Linz. In autumn 2016 she was engaged by Goyo Montero as a member of the ballet of the Staatstheater Nürnberg, where she appeared in works by Christian Spuck, William Forsythe, Goyo Montero, Mauro Bigonzetti, Hofesh Shechter, Marco Goecke and Jirí Kylián. In June 2019, she made her choreographic debut ‹Exquisite Corpse› at Schauspielhaus Nürnberg. She has been a member of the Ballett Theater Basel since August 2019 and was most recently seen in choreographies by Richard Wherlock, Alexander Ekman and Sharon Eyal.
