Paul Schröder, born in 1982 in Anklam, studied at the Hochschule für Schauspielkunst Ernst Busch in Berlin from 2005 to 2009. During his studies, he worked several times with the director Antú Romero Nunes at the bat studio and the Maxim Gorki Theater in Berlin and made guest appearances at the Deutsches Theater Berlin (director: Christoph Mehler) and at the Ruhrtriennale (director: Andrea Breth).
His first permanent engagement was at the Deutsches Theater Berlin from 2009 to 2011, where he performed in productions by Michael Thalheimer and Stephan Kimmig, among others. Together with Steffen Wilhelm he is part of the duo 'Paul und Willi' (www.paulundwilli.de), with whom he received the Swiss Comedy Award and the Cabinet Prize in the Comedy category in 2005 and was awarded the Balcony TV Music Video Award in 2009. From 2011 to 2013 he was in the ensemble of the Maxim Gorki Theater Berlin, worked among others several times with Antú Romero Nunes and was awarded the 'Theaterpreis der Freunde des Maxim Gorki Theaters' in 2012. From 2013 to 2015 he was a member of the ensemble at Schauspiel Stuttgart and worked with directors Armin Petras, Tilmann Köhler and Martin Laberenz, among others.
In the 15/16 season, Paul Schröder became an ensemble member of the Thalia Theater. At Theater Basel he could previously be seen in 'Odyssee'.
