The pianist Petros Bouras was born in Athens, Greece. He began his piano studies at the age of seven and received his diploma from Musical Horizons Conservatory in 2006. Eventually he was accepted by Trinity College of Music into the class of Yonty Solomon and attended various master classes with piano soloists such as France Clidat, Ivo Pogorelich and Bernard Ringeissen. He has performed numerous recitals and chamber music concerts in the USA, Switzerland, Germany, the UK, France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Armenia, Luxembourg, Poland, Italy, Albania and Kuwait. He recently became the first Greek pianist to perform on the Chinese piano island of Gulangyu, giving four concerts of varying repertoire. He is a member of StarWound, a well-known Anglophone Greek band that introduced the musical genre of rock cabaret to Greece. He is also a member of the Galan Trio, a piano trio from Athens that gives several concerts in Greece and abroad. Famous composers such as Matthew Greenbaum (USA) and David Haladjian (Armenia) have composed original scores for the Galan Trio. Since 2021, they have been performing their project 'Kinesis', in which they collaborate with US universities. So far they have toured the US four times and performed at more than 25 universities in the US. At Theater Basel, Petros Bouras is involved in 'Yopougon Ring' in the 23/24 season.
