Mala
Mala Emde graduated from the Hochschule für Schauspielkunst 'Ernst Busch' Berlin in 2019. She first appeared in front of the camera in 2008 and gained further experience during her school years in 'Tatort' episodes and in the KiKa series krimi.de. For her leading role in the docu-drama 'Meine Tochter Anne Frank' by Raymond Ley, she was awarded the Bavarian Film Prize's Young Talent Award. After graduating from high school, she appeared in the TV drama 'Neben der Spur' (director: Thomas Berger), in the children's film 'Nussknacker und Mausekönig', in the Kiel 'Tatort - Borowski und das verlorene Mädchen' (director: Raymond Ley) or in the historical film 'Katharina Luther' (director: Julia von Heinz). In 2015 she made her cinema debut in 'Offline - Das Leben ist kein Bonuslevel' (Offline - Life is not a Bonus Level) by Florian Schnell. For her role of Jule in the feature film '303' (director: Hans Weingartner), Mala Emde was awarded Best Young Actress at the Filmkunstfest Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. This was followed by 'Wir töten Stella' (director: Julian Pölsler) and 'Lehman. Gier frisst Herz' (director: Raymond Ley). In 2019 she starred in the TV series 'Charité', in 'Brecht - Eine Vorstellung' by Heinrich Breloer and in Jan Ole Gerster's feature film 'Lara'. In 2020 Mala Emde will be seen in 'Und morgen die ganze Welt' (director: Julia von Heinz). Internationally, she stars in the thriller series 'Shadowplay' (directed by Måns Mårlind and Björn Stein). The short film 'Oktopus und, aka Leviathan (director: Sebastian Husak) premiered at the Max Ophüls Festival at the end of January 2020. On 16 November 2023, 'Die Mittagsfrau' will be released in German-speaking cinemas, starring Mala Emde.
