Julia
Kiesler Choir director

Julia Kiesler was born in East Germany in 1977 and studied speech and literature at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg from 1997 to 2002. She has taught Speech in the Theatre Department at Bern University of the Arts for many years. Further, Julia has worked and continues to work as a voice and speech coach at various theatres, including Theater Chemnitz, Bühnen Bern, Theater Basel and Theater St. Gallen. In 2018, she completed her PhD and published ‹Der performative Umgang mit dem Text›, which describes various approaches to text development within contemporary theatre, and worked with the directors Laurent Chétouane, Claudia Bauer, Volker Lösch and the choirmaster Bernd Freytag.
