Dayne Florence is Australian. He began his dance training at the McDonald College of Performing Arts and continued his education at the Theater Basel Ballet School. During his studies in Basel, he gained his first professional experience as an eleve at the ballet of the Opéra national du Rhin in Mulhouse. After completing his training, he became a member of the NRW Juniorballett Dortmund under the direction of Xin Peng Wang and an ensemble member of the Staatstheater Nürnberg Ballett under the direction of Goyo Montero. Dayne Florence has been a member of Ballett Basel since 2020 and was appointed to the newly formed ensemble by Marco Goecke from the 25/26 season. In recent years, he has also acquired in-depth knowledge as a lighting designer, which he implements in freelance projects. In the course of his career, he has danced in works by Hofesh Shechter, Jacopo Godani, Marco Goecke, Itzik Galili, Edward Clug, Heinz Spoerli, Goyo Montero, Xin Peng Wang, Richard Wherlock and other choreographers.
