Thomas Faulkner studied voice at Cambridge University and at the Royal Academy of Music in London. He has been an ensemble member at Oper Frankfurt since 2016, where he has sung roles including Pimen ('Boris Godunov'), Swallow ('Peter Grimes'), Lord Gualtiero Valton ('I puritani'), John Claggart ('Billy Budd') and Alidoro ('La Cenerentola'). Other appearances include Melisso ('Alcina') at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein and Zuniga ('Carmen') at the Royal Opera House. Guest engagements have taken Thomas Faulkner to the Cologne Opera, the Théâtre du Châtelet, the Opera Vincenza as well as to the Müpa Festival in Budapest and the Tiroler Festspiele Erl. With Scottish Opera he appeared as Banco in their touring production of 'Macbeth' and sang at the Bavarian State Opera under the baton of Ivor Bolton in 'L'Orfeo'. A regular guest with Wexford Festival Opera, he has appeared as Arnold Messenius in 'Cristina, regina di Svezia', Sarastro in 'Die Zauberflöte' and Dulcamara in 'L'elisir d'amore'. He has also appeared as bass soloist in Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 with the Dresden Philharmonic, in Haydn's 'The Seasons' with the Nuremberg Symphony, in Bruckner's Symphony No. 9 with the Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana, in Mozart's Mass in C minor at Les Grands Concerts in the Salle Métropole in Lausanne with Maestro Bertrand de Billy, and in Verdi's Requiem with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. At Theater Basel he can be heard as Fasolt in 'Das Rheingold'.
