Sarah
The Irish soprano Sarah Brady studied at the Royal Irish Academy of Music, where she has already performed as Pamina ('Die Zauberflöte'), among other roles. In 2017 she joined the OperAvenir opera studio at Theater Basel. Here she sang Celia ('Lucio Silla'), Clorinda ('La Cenerentola'), the Fourth Maid ('Elektra'), the soprano role in Bernstein's 'Trouble in Tahiti', Lilith in the world premiere of Dai Fujikura's 'The Golden Beetle', Cupid ('King Arthur'), Bubikopf ('The Emperor of Atlantis') and Selene ('Didone abbandonata'). From the 2019/20 season, now as a member of the ensemble of Theater Basel, she interpreted the roles of Susanna ('Le Nozze di Figaro') and Musetta ('La Bohème') and performed in Honegger's 'Jeanne d'Arc au bûcher' and Luigi Nono's 'Al gran sole carico d'amore'. She won 3rd prize in the 2017 International Mozart Singing Competition as well as the RDS Music Bursary and the Bernadette Greevy Award. From 2020-23 she was an ensemble member of the Staatsoper Hannover where her roles included Susanna in 'The Marriage of Figaro', Gilda in Verdi's 'Rigoletto', B. in 'Trionfo. Four Last Nights', Swan Princess in 'The Tale of Tsarem Saltan' and Governess in 'The Turn of the Screw'. In the 23/24 season she will be guesting there as Fiordiligi in 'Così fan tutte' and she will sing Musetta in 'La Bohème' at the Irish National Opera. She returns to Theater Basel as Micaela in 'Carmen' and Ortlinde in 'Die Walküre'.
