Horten-Skilbrei Dancer

Lisa Horten-Skilbrei is an artist, dancer, and creative from Oslo, Norway, currently residing in Basel. She has a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Oslo National Academy of the Arts, and additional training from scholarship invitations with Batsheva Dance Company, Nederlands Dans Theater and Hubbard Street Dance Chicago. Over the years, curiosity has taken her on a journey through different practices, studies and platforms of expressionen. Today, she’s expanding her own research and compositions, whilst collaborating and performing with various fields of arts and artists. Lisa is also a certified yoga teacher and experienced dance teacher offering 1:1 coaching for emerging dancers and athletes, online and in person. Lisa has been a member of Ballett Basel since 2017.

Lisa Horten-Skilbrei had been a dancer at Ballett Basel since 2017 and passed away in December 2024 after a serious illness.

Lisa was an incredibly dedicated dance artist, creative collaborator, inspiring woman and spiritual soul who touched the hearts of many people. We miss her deeply.

Grateful memories of her charisma and strength will live on in the time of mourning. Farewell, dearest Lisa, we were lucky to have known you.
