Elena Scheicher (*1994) defines herself through the visual juxtaposition of the naturalistic and the innovative, always in relation to theatrical reality. The search for the interplay of space and identity, technology and poetry forms the common thread that runs through her work. Elena Scheicher's understanding of costume as an art form goes back to her first assistantship with Marianne Glittenberg, whom she assisted at the Salzburg Festival and the Vienna State Opera in 2013-2014. In 2017, she began studying stage and costume design at the Kunsthochschule Weissensee Berlin. Her studies were characterised by projects in Berlin's independent scene. In 2018, she took on the role of assistant to Stefan Hageneier at the Passion Play in Oberammergau. In response to the pandemic, she developed the travelling stage Frau Jolly Roger, with which she worked in Neustrelitz at the Landestheater, in Berlin at KulturMitte (director: Lara M. Tacke) and as part of sommer.frische.kunst in Salzburg. This resulted in a particularly well-founded collaboration with the director in exchange for public space. Elena developed another mobile stage with the operetta collective Tutti d*amore and toured Berlin and the surrounding area in summer 2022. At the beginning of 2023, she created the set for 'Die Lage' (director: Max Radestock) at Neues Theater Halle and two productions at Theater Konstanz (director: Abdullah Karaca). Further productions followed at the Berliner Ensemble and Schauspielhaus Hamburg.
