Christopher Nell was born in Kaufbeuren (Allgäu) in 1979. The singer and actor studied at the Rostock University of Music and Drama from 2002 to 2006 and already worked regularly at the Volkstheater Rostock and the Staatstheater Schwerin during his studies. In 2005 he was brought to Berlin, where he first worked as a permanent ensemble member and later as a freelance actor. He has worked with directors such as Claus Peymann, Peter Stein, Mona Kraushaar and Manfred Karge in numerous performances, including Romeo, Mackie Messer, Hamlet and Mephisto. In Robert Wilson's production of 'The Life and Death of Marina Abramović' Christopher Nell starred alongside Willem Dafoe, Anthony Hegarty and Marina Abramović at the Manchester International Festival in 2011 and since then at major theaters worldwide. In 2016, he made his debut at the Burgtheater in Vienna. In December 2018, he appeared at Volksbühne Berlin in the tragicomedy 'Haussmann's State Security Theater' and made his debut at Schauspiel Leipzig ('Lazarus', directed by Hubert Wild) in the 2022/23 season. In addition, Christopher Nell has been touring since 2003 together with Claudia Graue and Marcus Melzwig as the award-winning a cappella trio 'Muttis Kinder' in German-speaking countries as well as in Singapore, Taiwan, Canada, Great Britain, Romania and Croatia. He made his debut at Theater Basel in Herbert Fritsch's 'Vergeigt' in the 2022/23 season.
