Carlos Kerr Jr. is a Belizean-American performing artist, raised in Brooklyn, New York. He trained at Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts and earned his BFA in Dance, cum laude, from the Ailey/Fordham Program at Lincoln Center. He also holds a Master’s Certificate of Advanced Studies in Dance Science (Health & Performance; Psychology & Education) from the University of Bern. He has performed with Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, the Metropolitan Opera Ballet, RUBBERBAND Dance Group, Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company, Theater Ulm, Tanz Luzerner Theater, and Snorkel Rabbit. His repertoire spans works by William Forsythe, Crystal Pite, Hofesh Shechter, Marcos Morau, Johan Inger, Bobbi Jene Smith, Bryan Arias, Ella Rothschild, among others. Beyond the stage, Carlos develops interdisciplinary choreographic works presented internationally, including at Springboard Danse Montreal. He also shares his expertise as a certified GYROKINESIS® trainer. Carlos Kerr Jr. has been a member of Ballet Basel since season 23/24 and was taken on by Marco Goecke in the newly formed company in the summer of 2025.
