Babel Music

Alexandre Babel is a percussionist, composer and curator working in various contemporary contexts such as modern classical music, experimental music and performance art. Babel creates works that challenge listener:s expectations of conventional musical forms. He is a founding member of the performance collective Radial with artist Mio Chareteau and was principal percussionist in the contemporary music ensemble KNM Berlin from 2009 to 2019. In 2020, the monographic festival Les Amplitudes in La Chaux-de-Fonds was dedicated to Babel's compositional and curatorial work. Until 2022, Babel was artistic director of the contemporary percussion collective Eklekto. He is a laureate of the 2021 Swiss Music Prize.
