Aenne Schwarz, born in Filderstadt, studied German language and literature, philosophy and religious studies at the Free University of Berlin from 2003 to 2007 and acting at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts from 2007 to 2010. Her first engagement took her to the Maxim Gorki Theater in Berlin. This led to many years of collaboration with Armin Petras, Jan Bosse, Antú Romero Nunes and Jim Rakete.
From 2013 she was a member of the ensemble at the Burgtheater in Vienna, where she last appeared in Simon Stone's 'Hotel Strindberg'. She has freelanced at the Thalia Theater Hamburg, the Schauspielhaus Hamburg and the Schauspiel Stuttgart.
In addition to her work in theatre, Aenne Schwarz is active in film. In Maria Schrader's feature film 'Vor der Morgenröte', which entered the race for the foreign Oscar for Austria, she stood in front of the camera as Lotte Zweig alongside Josef Hader and Barbara Sukowa. For her performance in Eva Trobisch's 'Alles ist gut', which premiered in Locarno, Paris, Marrakech and New York, among other places, she received many international awards for leading actress. Further film work followed with Jan Bonny, Daniel Brühl and Christoph Hochhäusler. Her latest film work has just been awarded the WIP Europe Award in San Sebastian.
From 2020 to 2023, Aenne Schwarz was an ensemble member at Theater Basel. Since the 23/24 season she has been a guest and can be seen in the role of Titania in the production '', a production that was invited to the Berliner Theatertreffen 2023.
