Anita Kuster first studied trombone at the conservatories in Basel and Cologne. A few years later she completed postgraduate studies in music physiology at the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste and in music education at the Hochschule der Künste Bern. She is a member of the Basel Sinfonietta, where she directs the concert series 'Klangfüchse' as a music mediator. As a soloist and chamber musician, Anita Kuster devotes herself to contemporary, experimental and improvised music as well as interdisciplinary projects. The alphorn and related 'natural sounds' accompany and inspire her both as a player and as a composer. Her teaching activities include early education courses for garden hose trumpet and wind instrument carousel, trombone and tenor horn lessons, music theatre productions and further education courses in 'Music & Body' for professional musicians.
