Option to buy
Over the summer, you can secure an ‹option to buy› in our ticket shop. This option to buy allows you to purchase tickets for the 20/21 season immediately after the period for subscribers. Buy your tickets in the week from 24 to 31 August 2020 before they go on sale to the general public.

Please note that prices are higher at the weekend than during the week and may be adjusted based on demand.

CHF 20 on the Grosse Bühne and CHF 10 in the Schauspielhaus and on the Kleine Bühne. All performances also available as advance sales and in the ticket shop. Also for premieres.

Theater Basel is delighted about the many guests who regularly attend the theatre. In the future, we want to show our appreciation for this support through exclusive events.
And this is how it works:
If you have previously purchased tickets worth at least CHF 500 during one season, you can take part in our exclusive programme. Subscribers are automatically part of our loyalty programme when they take out a subscription.
- Three exclusive rehearsal visits:
Attend three advance rehearsals per season; one per department. The respective dramaturge will look after you personally. Afterwards, enjoy an Apéro with either the director / choreographer or the head of department who will be more than happy to discuss what you have just seen.Admission fee CHF 10, maximum of 2 hours, for 50 people
- Guided production tours:
We organise a guided tour for you through all workshops involved in a selected production. Admission fee CHF 10, maximum of 2 hours, for 40 people
- Theatre & menu:
For loyalty programme participants. Mit Introduction before the first course and a welcoming address by the artistic director.
Three-course meal, commences two hours before the start of the performance, for 50 people, only available in combination with a performance ticket. More information on this offer will be provided here on 1 September.
The introductions provide background information about the production, author and directing concept. They always take place thirty minutes before the start of the performance on the Grosse Bühne and in the Schauspielhaus. Be perfectly prepared for your visit to the theatre in just ten minutes.
Upon request, we also offer classroom introductions for school classes.

We want to make sure that as many people as possible can enjoy the theatre to the full. As of this season, we will be showing almost all our plays with surtitles: All opera performances on the Grosse Bühne and in the Schauspielhaus will be surtitled in German and English.
