Buy (at least) one more ticket. This way you can give the gift of a visit to the theatre to people who cannot afford it. At the box office or in the ticket shop for CHF 20 per ticket. More
You can order programme booklets for our plays in the shop and by telephone to your home! When you buy tickets online, the appropriate programme booklet will automatically be suggested in your shopping basket so that you can add it easily. Or ask our colleagues at the box office when buying tickets over the phone.
You can find out more about the background to the play, author and director's concept during the introductions. They always take place 30 minutes before the start of the performance on the main stage and in the theatre. In just ten minutes, the dramaturge will prepare you perfectly for your visit to the theatre.
On request, we offer introductions for school classes in the classroom.

Opera performances on the main stage and in the theatre are subtitled in German and English. Theatre performances on the main stage and in the Schauspielhaus are subtitled in English. Premieres excluded. In the 23/24 season, selected performances will be subtitled in French.

Tram from Basel SBB
From the SBB railway station, take tram no. 2, 8, 11 to the 'Bankverein' stop. Walk down Steinentorberg in the direction of Barfüsserplatz for 10 minutes, the theatre is behind the Tinguely fountain on the left-hand side. Or take tram no. 10 to the 'Theater' stop.
Lift directly to the foyer
Use the lift in Theaterstrasse, opposite the tram stop. This will take you directly to the foyer of the Theater Basel.
Bicycle
There are parking spaces for bicycles around the theatre and the Schauspielhaus.
Car
The multi-storey car park at Theaterstrasse 7 offers 150 parking spaces, reservations are not possible. Access via Steinentorstrasse.
