Elif Duygu Karci was born in Basel in 1997 and grew up there. She is studying English and Gender Studies at the University of Basel. In her free time, she is a hip-hop/all-style dancer and has participated in various performances and competitions from 2014 to 2021. She began attending the youth courses at the Junges Theater Basel and in 2017 she became part of the production 'Zucken' - a co-production between the Junges Theater Basel and the Maxim Gorki Theater in Berlin, directed by Sebastian Nübling and with texts by Sasha Marianna Salzmann.
Since then: 'Untitled [2020]' with the theatre collective Henrike Iglesias and 'Born to Shine' by Sebastian Nübling and Ives Thuwis-De Leeuw, the leading role in 'Ich chan es Zündhölzli azünde' at Schauspielhaus Zürich by Suna Gürler with texts by Fatima Moumouni and Laurin Buser. As a long-term understudy, she was part of the productions 'Flex' by Suna Gürler and 'Fressen' by Henrike Iglesias. After 'Dämonen', directed by Sebastian Nübling and Boris Nikitin, she is performing for the second time at Theater Basel in 'Das Leben ist unaufhaltsam' by Natalia Blok, directed by Peter Kastenmüller.
