Mezzo-soprano Anne Sofie von Otter looks back on an incomparable and multiple award-winning discography. Thanks to her versatility, she has collaborated with legendary artists:inside such as Carlos Kleiber, Claudio Abbado and Giuseppe Sinopoli to Elvis Costello, Brad Mehldau and Rufus Wainwright. Recent highlights of the Swedish-born singer include Madame de Croissy ('Dialogues des Carmélites') at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, Marcellina ('Le nozze di Figaro') in Christof Loy's production at the Bavarian State Opera, L'Opinion Publique ('Orphée aux Enfers') at Barrie Kosky's Salzburg Festival, Mérope ('Oedipe') at the Opéra National de Paris, and the leading role of Charlotte Andergast in the world premiere of Sebastian Fagerlund's 'Höstsonaten' at the Finnish National Opera. Following her acclaimed performance at Theater Basel in 'Eine Winterreise,' an intimate evening of music theater conceived by Christoph Loy and inspired by the songs of Franz Schubert, von Otter and Kristian Bezuidenhout reunited in the 22/23 season for recitals in New York, Boston, Minnesota, Rochester, Santa Monica, Montréal and Warsaw. Her numerous song recordings range from classics by Schubert, Schumann, Wolf and Mahler to lesser-known compositions by Cécile Chaminade, Korngold, Peterson-Bergen and Stenhammar. She returns to Theater Basel in the 23/24 season for 'L'incoronazione di Poppea'.
