Charlotte Martin was born in 1994 in the canton of St.Gallen, in the municipality of Rieden. After completing an apprenticeship as a painter in 2014 and working in this field, Charlotte completed her studies in interior design with a focus on scenography at the HGK FHNW in Basel in 2017. Her love of theatre developed and solidified during her studies, and so she began working for the opening project 'Im Flow der Apokalypse' at Theater Basel directly after graduating with a Bachelor's degree. Further stations were the junge theatre basel, where she completed a stage design assistant with Dominic Huber. Together with Thomas Giger, she worked for various projects including 'Theater Hora' and 'Vorschlag:Hammer'. From 2021 to 2023 Charlotte Martin worked as a stage assistant at Bühnen Bern, where she was able to create her own stage designs for the play 'Hänsel & Greta & The Big Bad Witch', the concert 'The Four Seasons' and for the dance platform 'Next Generation', among others. At the Usinesonore Musik 2022 festival in Biel, Charlotte developed a stage together with Milian Mori and Tatiana Timonina, which attempts to transport into a musical world as an immersive instrument. In 2022, together with Timo Jander, Johnny Ferrari and Joël Mathys, she founded the collective 'WartenAufDenKern' with the aim of exploring concepts in a transdisciplinary set-up and creating an immersive world using a wide variety of means.
