Senjan Jansen is a composer, sound designer and music producer working across disciplines and internationally in the performing arts, visual arts, fashion and film industries. His collaboration with American choreographer Meg Stuart on his final short film 'Distance' for his studies in film directing at the RITCS School of Arts in Brussels marked the beginning of his specialization in sound direction. Further collaborations followed, such as with renowned directors Jan Lauwers/Needcompany and Wim Vandekeybus. Together with Belgian writer and director Bart Meuleman and Dutch director and actress Abke Haring, he created 'Maison Fragile' in 2004, which led to a long-lasting collaboration. Over the years he has worked with performing artist:s such as FC Bergman ('JR', 'Terminator Trilogy', 'The Sheep Song'), Salva Sanchis ('Radical Light'), Ontroerend Goed ('TM') and for the Munich Kammerspiele with Michiel van de Velde for 'Joy 2022'. In addition, Jansen frequently works with auteur filmmakers and has composed for directors such as Fien Troch, Tim Mielants, Laure Prouvost, Koen Mortier and Nicolas Provost, among others. Together with Joris Vermeiren, Jansen also produces his own music under the label discodesafinado. The minimal techno, which includes experimental electronic music almost symbiotically, has been used for high-fashion labels such as Diesel, Y-Project, Glenn Martens, Akris and Christian Wijnants, among others.
