Mayer Actress / Singer

Delia Mayer was born in Hong Kong and now lives in Zurich. She studied acting and singing in Vienna, New York, London and Zurich. As a crossover artist between serious and popular music, theatre, musical theatre and film, her engagements have taken her to the Vienna Burgtheater, Theater an der Wien, the Ruhrtriennale, Theater Basel (including 'Lady in the Dark' and 'Cheese'), Vereinigte Bühnen Wien, Theater Luzern (as Claire Zachanassian in 'Besuch der alten Dame') and Theater Carré Amsterdam. She has worked with the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich, the Musikkollegium Winterthur ('Histoire du Soldat') and the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra ('Die sieben Todsünden'). As a singer and songwriter, she performs her own programmes and has released the album 'These Days'. She has worked on various film soundtracks, including for films by Doris Dörrie and Rolf Lyssy. Until 2018, she acted as Swiss Tatort detective Liz Ritschard and played Miriam Shapiro in the Emmy-winning Netflix series 'Unorthodox'. Since May 2024, she can be seen in the six-part novel adaptation 'The Tattooist from Auschwitz' and from November 2024 in the ARTE series 'Die Spaltung der Welt' as Golda Meir and in the Israeli-American series 'Band of Spies'. She played the lead role in the production 'Lady in the Dark' at Theater Basel in the 2022/2023 season
