The Danish scenographer Christian Friedländer has created dozens of sets for drama, opera and ballet companies in Scandinavia, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland and France. Since his first engagement in 1993, he has worked with such renowned directors as Katrine Wiedemann, Tue Biering, Bille August, Kasper Holten, Jeremy Weller, Alexander Mørk Eidem, Frank Castorf, David Lynch, David Marton, Liv Helm and Bobbi Jene Smith. From 2004 to 2007 he was the artistic director of Turbinehallerne, at the Royal Theater in Copenhagen. Between 1998 and 2013 he closely collaborated with the Royal Theatre in Copenhagen, where he participated in more than 35 stage productions, including Shakespeare’s ‹Hamlet› for the opening of the new Skuespilhuset theatre in 2008. Since 2012 he has primarily worked for drama and opera companies throughout Europe including The Oslo Opera, Opéra National de Lyon, , Shauspielhaus Stuttgart, Royal Theater Copenhagen, Münchner Kammerspiele, Volksbühne Berlin, National Theater Prague, Opernhaus Zürich, and the Bayrische Staatsoper.
