Sarah Hänggi is a choral conductor and school musician from Basel. She completed her Master's degree in choral conducting and school music at the Hochschule für Musik Basel with Raphael Immoos in 2014 and added studies in specialised choral conducting with Anders Eby at the Robert Schumann Hochschule in Düsseldorf.
With her professional vocal ensemble Tradiophon, she has regularly performed romantic, contemporary and experimental programmes since 2016. She conducts the Basler Beizenchor, specialising in acapella pop, the Kleinbasler Kammerchor, and the choir of the Gymnasium Münchenstein. Since 2013 she has been working as a school musician at the Gymnasium Laufental-Thierstein. During the last few years, she has conducted the Intercantonal Male Choir, the Reveille Choir of the Basler Liedertafel and the Jugendchor beider Basel, among others.
In 2018 she was engaged for the music theatre production 'Abhängigkeitserklärung' for extreme mixed choir by Benjamin Van Bebber and Leo Hofmann at Theater Kampnagel in Hamburg. She attended master classes with Grete Pedersen, Anders Eby, Nicolas Fink, Raphael Immoos, Catherine Fender and Hans Michael Bäuerle.
Since 2019 she is the artistic director of the international singing festival 'enchanté' in Riehen. In 2018, Sarah Hänggi received the Cultural Promotion Prize of the Canton of Solothurn for her work as a conductor.
