Romain Guion was born in France and has been living in Zürich since 2014. He works as a performer, choreographer, dance teacher and cultural manager and has been active in the performing arts scene for more than 20 years. He trained at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse in Paris before joining various renowned international dance companies. Alongside his performing career, Romain creates dance, music, theatre and opera productions with a myriad of artists, such as Alain Platel, Martin Zimmermann, Koen Augustijnen, Eugénie Rebetez and Juliette Navis. Since 2000, he has been organising dancing classes and dance workshops around the globe. Romain is on the board of directors and a curator of ‹Lucky Trimmer›, a non-profit curatorial dance platform dedicated to the short choreography format, and a curator of professional training at Tanzhaus Zürich and K3 Kampnagel in Hamburg, as well as an artistic coordinator of the Zürich dance collective ‹The Field›. In 2019, Romain received a cultural award from the city of Zürich. He graduated with a Master's degree in Cultural Management from Leuphana University in 2021. The following year, he founded ‹Brückerei›, a platform for choreographic development, together with choreographer Caroline Finn. In the 2022/23 season, he will have an artistic and choreographic voice in Martin Zimmermann's family performance ‹Ciao Ciao› at Theater Basel.
