Iratxe Ansa, choreographer, director and dancer, trained at John Cranko Schule in Stuttgart. She has been dancing for over twenty years for some of the world's most renowned dance companies, including Ballett Theater Basel, Gulbenkian Ballet, National Dance Company, for Nacho Duato, Lyon Opera Ballet and NDT under the direction of Anders Hellstrom. Throughout her career, she has collaborated with famous choreographers such as Nacho Duato, William Forsythe, Jiri Kylian, Mats Ek, Jacopo Godani, Johan Inger, Medhi Walerski, Crystal Pite, Ohad Naharin, Wayne McGregor and Alexander Ekman, to name but a few. In 2020 she won the National Dance Award in the Outstanding Performance category and in 2021 the Max Award for Best Female Dance Performance for her role in ‹In the Nude›.

She has been working together with her partner, Igor Bacovich, as a choreographic team since 2013. They have so far worked in more than thirty countries and choreographed over twenty dance performances,
which have been performed at renowned festivals and famous international dance institutions. Together they founded and manage the company Metamorphosis Dance, which is known for its virtuoso and audacious dance style and with which they have developed their own teaching method: The Metamorphosis Method. In the 2022/23 season, their dance style can be experienced at Theater Basel in the double bill evening ‹Imbalanced Parallels›.
