Born in Paris in 1962, Wolfram Koch studied at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Frankfurt. After numerous roles at the Berlin Volksbühne, the Schiller Theater, the Deutsches Theater and the Schauspiel Frankfurt, he had a permanent engagement in Bochum from 1995 to 2000. Since then he has worked freelance in Zurich, Vienna, Hamburg, Berlin and Luxembourg. He is active as an audio book narrator as well as in film and television, including as Chief Inspector Brix in the Frankfurt 'Tatort'. In 2011, together with Dimiter Gotscheff, Samuel Finzi and Almut Zilcher, he was awarded the Berlin Theater Prize, and in 2015 the Gertrud Eysoldt Ring. He was nominated for the Faust Theater Prize in 2018 for his role as King Richard III at Schauspiel Frankfurt. At Theater Basel, he will make his debut in Herbert Fritsch's 'Vergeigt' in the 2022/23 season.
