People never tire of admiring the foyer of Theater Basel: Sitting beneath an impressive concrete canopy, it extends across several floors.
Visitors are provided with a distinctive view of the architecture from the theatre café at the top of the foyer. For the warmer days of the year, there is a terraced area just behind Elisabethenkirche and the Tinguely fountain.
During the day, the theatre café is part of the Foyer Public; after 6 pm, the stage belongs to the café alone. Incidentally: Taking a seat in the café puts you right in the middle of the action. And with a bit of luck, you will even have the chance to spot people rehearsing, limbering up or preparing things. More
Catering obviously takes centre stage here. Theatre café guests can enjoy refreshing and delicious beverages, sparkling drinks and alcoholic treats, smaller and larger snacks and a daily changing lunchtime menu. We create and cook all our dishes according to the ‹total local› principle. More
The theatre café is open six days a week, and everyone is welcome, with and without a theatre ticket.

A beetroot carpaccio sandwich or would you rather prefer a piece of cake from the famous Basel bakery Beschle? Snacks and sweet treats are available around the clock.

Once a month there is a live music, performance or karaoke night on stage in the theatre café. Late night culture vultures with a few hidden tricks up their sleeves definitely get their money's worth – and admission is completely free. More
