Clémence Pernoud comes from Paris and studied Costume Design at the ESMOD International Fashion School in her home city. Her first stage works were for Jean Bellorini in a musical theatre performance for the Festival d'Aix-en-Provence. It was there that she met Vincent Huguet, with whom she has worked regularly ever since, including on the 2014 premiere of ‹Encor sur le pavé sonne mon pas nocturne› in Aix-en-Provence, at Opéra de Bordeaux on ‹Les Voyages de Don Quichotte› (2016) and ‹Hoffmans Erzählungen› (2019), or on ‹Roméo et Juliette› at Stadttheater Luzern in 2018. In 2021 and 2022, Pernoud and Huguet worked together on ‹Così fan tutte› and ‹Don Giovanni› at Staatsoper Berlin. Clémence has also created costume designs for directors such as Ted Huffman, Eric Oberdorff, Florent Siaud and Philippe Béziat or Julia Burbach and Tal Rosner. Her approach to costume design is based primarily on a director or filmmaker's intention to tell a story. The costume – just like the set – should support this story and allow the audience to connect much more deeply with it. Clémence also works in the film industry on short films and music videos. They include the short films ‹Le vol des cigognes› (Iris Kaltenbäck), ‹Beach boys et Goal volant› (Jérémie Sein) and ‹Les animaux sauvages› (Laurent La Rosa) as well as music videos for the artists Scotch and Sofa (Martin Geisler), Goose (Thomas Rhazi), Dune (Joffrey Monteiro-Noel) and David Thibaut and Fictions directed by Laurent La Rosa.
