Gieron Schauspielstudio

Katharina Gieron was born in Hamburg in 1999 and grew up in Cologne. She spent her youth as a goalkeeper on the hockey pitch. After realising that it was crazy to be regularly shot down, she shifted her ambitions to an even crazier field - acting. She had her first experience in front of the camera at the age of 15 and has since appeared in various German films and series. She also appeared on the big screen in 2019 in 'Gut gegen Nordwind'. In the years that followed, she increasingly discovered her passion for theatre. Under the direction of Charlotte Sprenger, she played in Thomas Mann's 'Der Zauberberg' at Cologne's Theater der Keller in 20/21. She then began her acting studies at the Bern University of the Arts. During her studies, she already appeared in the production of 'The Persians' directed by Sahar Rahimi at Theater Basel. She also developed her own plays as part of a collective during her time at university, one of which was invited to Chemnitz Theatre as part of the NONSTOP EUROPA! festival.
 

In the 24/25 season, Katharina Gieron is part of the HKB acting studio at Theater Basel.
