Lasse Koch was born in Hildesheim in 1976. He studied Political Science in Frankfurt am Main and Hamburg. Since then, Lasse has worked as editor-in-chief at the German quarterly cultural magazine OPAK, as a freelance journalist for left-wing German weekly newspaper Jungle World and as a bartender at several Hamburg clubs. In collaboration with various artists, including Harry Rowohlt, Schorsch Kamerun, Thomas Ebermann, Michael Weber and Jörg Pohl, he has developed several independent theatre productions (about Rolf-Dieter Brinkmann, Erich Mühsam and Paul Scheerbart, for example), which have been performed at Schauspielhaus Hamburg, Volksbühne Berlin and Münchner Kammerspiele. He was also a member of the collective ‹Die Untüchtigen›, known for its series of political-literary events – built on hard work, diligence and meticulousness – in Hamburg nightclubs. Today, Lasse works primarily as a screenwriter and lives in Hamburg.
