Debora Maiques Marin was born in Barcelona in 1982. She attended the Elise Lummis Ballet School in Barcelona and successfully passed the exams of the Royal Academy of Dancing, London. She also completed a Pilates Mat teaching diploma at the ANEF in Barcelona. During her training she won various competitions in classical and contemporary dance. In 2000 she started her professional career at the Compañia Nacional de Danza 2, from 2003 she danced in the Compañia de Danza Carmen Roche and in 2004 at the Teatres de la Generalitat Valenciana. Since 2005 she has been a member of the ensemble at the Ballett Theater Basel. She has worked with choreographers such as Jiri Kylian, Johan Inger, Hofesh Schechter, Ed Wubbe, Nacho Duato, Mauro Bigonzetti, Stijn Celis, Thomas Noone, Patrick Delcroix, Ohad Naharin, Jorma Elo, Stephan Thoss and Richard Wherlock. She choreographed her own work as part of Dance Lab at Theater Basel, at the Landesmuseum Zürich, for Dance for MS and Catalan Dancers united against Cancer in Girona. In 2017 she was a co-founder of Loop Tanz, a cooperation with the Dornach Theater.
