Alia
Luque Director

Alia Luque was born in Barcelona in 1978. She studied Arabic Studies, German Literature and Social and Cultural Anthropology in Spain and Holland. While still a student, she worked as an assistant director and stage designer. In 2004, she interned at Bayerisches Staatsschauspiel and began working at Metropoltheater München, first as assistant to the artistic director, then as a costume designer and choreographer. From 2009 to 2011, Alia was engaged as an assistant director at Thalia Theater. Since 2011, she has been a freelance director, staging productions at Schauspiel Stuttgart, Maxim Gorki Theater Berlin, Staatstheater Mainz, Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe and Burgtheater Vienna, among other places.
