The introductions provide background information about the production, author and directing concept. They always take place thirty minutes before the start of the performance on the Grosse Bühne and in the Schauspielhaus. Be perfectly prepared for your visit to the theatre in just ten minutes.
Upon request, we also offer classroom introductions for school classes.

We want to make sure that as many people as possible can enjoy the theatre to the full. As of this season, we will be showing almost all our plays with surtitles: All opera performances on the Grosse Bühne and in the Schauspielhaus will be surtitled in German and English.

Freely select at least four works from the opera, theatre and ballet performances on offer in the Theater Basel programme. Depending on the number of works selected, you will receive a discount of between 10% and 20% on the regular admission price (except for special events and guest performances). Flexible choice of seat, work and date. Four, eight or twelve performances. The selective subscription can be compiled and purchased at any time.
