A musical search for happiness

The composers Patrick Frank and Andreas Eduardo Frank invite you to a musical happiness forum. The three-part performance in the foyer puts different concepts of happiness up for debate. Audience and performers meet in a kaleidoscope of concert mini formats, music theatre actions, intimate discussion circles and culinary art breaks. Happiness researchers and extreme athletes have their say, as do worms, Nietzsche, Ghandi, you and me. The result is a place to linger, savour and ponder the question of all questions: What is happiness?

  • Co-production with the Munich Biennale
  • With the kind support of the Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia

This performance is offered as a Relaxed Performance. The play takes place in the foyer of Theater Basel. Spectators can move around freely at any time, take a break or have a drink in the theater café. There are a few loud scenes, but you can always move away. The audience always comes into contact with the performers. However, all contact is voluntary. The play lasts 4 hours, but you can also come later or leave earlier.
