The multi-storey foyer of Theater Basel is home to bars, a theatre café and the Monteverdibar. Depending on when the performance begins, there are various ways for visitors to get in the mood and round off their theatre experience.
By the way: the foyer with its vaulted prestressed concrete roof can also be admired independently of theatre visits. It is open to everyone as the Foyer Public from Tuesdays to Sundays from 11:00 to 18:00. More
Before the performance
One hour before the performance begins, our service team serves aperitifs and wines from the Liestal winery Siebe Dupf and Vini D'amato. For those with a small appetite, sandwiches and Basler cheese cakes are on the menu at the large bar and in the theatre café.
New! Open air outdoor bar
The theatre bar awaits you in summer. On the theatre square, behind the Serra sculpture, a selection of drinks is available from one hour before the start of the performance (main stage) until after the interval.
During the interval (interval table)
To avoid waiting times, reserve your table for the interval before the performance. Order slips are available. Your order will be ready at the start of the interval. Intermission service is also available at the bar in the theatre café and at the large bar downstairs in the foyer.
After the performance
After the final applause, you can continue in the theatre café, which is open for another hour after performances on the main stage and small stage. More
