Into the new year with swing and vigour

As part of their partnership, the Basel Symphony Orchestra and Theater Basel are ringing in the new year with swinging rhythms! The groove will be provided by Duke Ellington's jazzy reinterpretation of Tchaikovsky's ‹Nussknacker› suite - a tribute to the new production of the ballet classic in December. Conductor Robert Emery has also included excerpts from Gershwin's ‹Porgy and Bess› alongside rousing pieces by Bernstein and Barber.
