Wieland Lemke was born in Wolgast in 1997 and studied costume design at the Berlin University of the Arts in the class of Professor Florence von Gerkan and Professor Lisa Meier. He assisted costume designers such as Lea Søvsø, Christina Schmitt, Rainer Sellmaier and Jelena Miletic, directors Julia Lwowski, Franziska Kronfoth and Sanghwa Park as well as dramaturge Maria Buzhor. His work has taken him to the Neuköllner Oper, Deutsches Theater Berlin, Sophiensæle, Akademie der Künste Berlin, Theater Bremen, Oper Halle, Komische Oper Berlin and Théâtre De L'athénée Louis-Jouvet Paris. He designed the costumes for director Georg Schütky for Steirischer Herbst 2022 and 'The Beggar's Opera' at Graz Opera. Together with the opera director Katja Czellnik and the set designers Tatjana Reeh, Orli Baruch, Sanghwa Park and Iris Christidi, he created several experimental performances at WestGermany - Büro für postmoderne Kommunikation. He created further works with the set designer Helene Scheithe, the costume designers Una Steinbrecher, Jule Posadowsky and Nina Ballhause and the experimental musician Wilhelm Gustaf Ljunggren Dahl. Wieland Lemke has appeared as a performer in productions by the music theatre collective 'Hauen und Stechen' in Berlin and Paris.
