Wanda Wylowa studied at the Zurich University of the Arts. Since then she has worked in various areas of acting, both on stage and in front of the camera, including at the Schauspielhaus Zurich, Theater Basel, the Bavarian State Opera in Munich and the Volksbühne Berlin. She made her film debut in 2002 in ‹Das Orgienhaus› and has since appeared in numerous Swiss films and series such as ‹Tatort› and ‹Der Bestatter›. For her role in the Swiss TV film ‹Der Hamster›, she received the Television Film Award for Best Supporting Actress in 2015. She has been a founding member of 400asa since 1999 and has worked as an actress with renowned directors such as Meret Matter and Ruedi Häusermann. In 2016, the theatre group was awarded the Swiss Federal Theatre Prize. In 2023, Wanda Wylowa received the City of Zurich Recognition Award. She is a co-founder of the feminist collective der grosse tyrann. In 2024, she won the prestigious Prix Walo for the two-woman play ‹2 Engel für Harry›, which she co-created. In May 2025, she will take to the stage in ‹Raue Zungen›, a play written especially for her by award-winning author Julia Weber. In summer 2025, she will also take on one of the leading roles in Oscar Wilde's ‹Ein idealer Gatte› at the Turbine Theatre. She also works as a presenter and narrator for radio plays, for example in ‹Pilgrim, der Schläfer› with Rufus Beck. In the 25/26 season, she is performing at Theater Basel in Philipp Stölzl's ‹Grand Finale›.
