Thöni
Simon Thöni completed his Bachelor's degree in Physical Theatre at the Accademia Teatro Dimitri and his Master's degree in Acting at the Zurich University of the Arts. In 2023, he spent an exchange semester at the Rostock University of Music and Theatre. He was accepted into the Swiss Study Foundation's funding programme and from 2018 to 2023 he was the recipient of the Ernst Göhner Scholarship for artists in training. His work ‹CASA› was nominated for the Zurich University of the Arts sponsorship award in the field of performing arts and film. In 2025, he was on the bachelor's degree examination board at the Accademia Teatro Dimitri. Simon Thöni has appeared as an actor, dancer and performer in France, Switzerland, the Netherlands and Italy, including at the Schauspielhaus Zurich, the Theater Carré Amsterdam, the Théâtre Comédie Odéon in Lyon, the Teatro Miela in Trieste and the Théâtre Equilibre-Nuithonie. He has worked in productions by Art on Ice and Zirkus Chnopf and under the direction of Wu Tsang and Volker Hesse. He is currently working as a director at the Wunderplunder theatre circus and can be seen at Theater Basel in the 25/26 season in ‹Die Zauberflöte›.
